The multi-entry visa requires a stronger financial profile — typically 3 years of ITR filings — and the embassy scrutinizes it more closely. Get the single-entry approved first, travel well, and the multi-entry becomes a natural follow-up application.

Japan's e-visa for Indian passport holders launched formally in April 2026 and has been operational through 2026. Here's where most guides mislead you: this is not a self-service online application like a US ESTA or a Thailand e-visa.
The Japan e-visa works like this: you apply through a MOFA-accredited (specifically, JATA-registered) Indian travel agency, which uploads your documents digitally to the Japanese consulate system. Top Reasons Japan Visa Applications Get Rejected
