The harmonised Schengen form has no question about US or other non-Schengen refusals, so there is no form duty to declare one. Answer truthfully if a portal or officer asks, and fix the weakness behind the 214(b), because that is what Schengen officers weigh.
A UK genuine visitor refusal cites paragraph V 4.2 of Appendix V. The real reasons sit in the sentences above it, usually about money and ties to India. There is no appeal or administrative review, so rebuild against each sentence and reapply.
A UK refusal saying documents could not be verified usually means a call to your bank or HR went unanswered. That is fixable with pre-verified evidence. A finding that a document is not genuine is deception under SUI 9.1 and triggers a ten-year bar.
Applying to France after a German Schengen refusal is legal only if France is truly your new main destination under Article 5 of the Visa Code. The VIS already shows France your German refusal, its ground and your declared itinerary.
Ground 10 on the Schengen refusal form means the officer doubted the papers you gave, usually because they contradicted each other. Germany ended remonstration in 2025, France allows a 30-day appeal and Italy sends you to the TAR.
In most cases, wait for the H-1B. Section 214(b) does not apply to H-1B applicants, so the refusal will not count against you there, while a second B-1 attempt with a pending petition usually invites another refusal and a record you must explain.
After two B-2 refusals under 214(b) you can reapply any time, with no waiting period. A third attempt works only if a material fact has changed and you can prove it. If nothing has, pause, build the missing ties and apply once, properly.
Declare the refusal and what the agent did on every later form. The US bar needs a willful misrepresentation and the UK ten-year ban needs deception you knew of, so a victim with proof often escapes both. A 6C1 or SUI 9.1 finding needs counsel.
A 221(g) after a US visa interview means the case is refused for now while the consulate waits for documents or a security clearance. State says most cases clear within 60 days, sets no maximum, and asks you to wait 180 days before inquiring.
Interview together before the move if you can. If the vendor booked only the L-1, the spouse and children can still apply alone with copies of the I-797 or endorsed I-129S, his visa and I-94, and the marriage and birth certificates. Pick the post by slot and keep every story identical.
Parents refused a B-2 under 214(b) can reapply with no waiting period, and should not until the arc of the trip changes: a fixed occasion, a short stay, their own words and real obligations at home. With Indian interview queues at 6 to 12 months, one wasted attempt costs a year.
