Do Indian citizens require a Visa to travel to Bhutan?

No, Indian citizens do not require a visa to enter Bhutan for tourism purpose. Indians travelling by air will be issued a free Entry Permit upon arrival into Bhutan. Indian nationals who wish to drive their cars to Bhutan are required to obtain “Route Permit” from the Road Safety and Transport Authority office in Bhutan after obtaining the entry permit from the Department of Immigration.

How long is the Bhutan Entry Permit valid for?

It will be valid for 7 days, which can be expandable in Thimphu for another 7 days up to a maximum of 30 days.

Is my permit valid for the whole of Bhutan?

Bhutan entry permit is valid only for Thimphu and Paro only. The rest of Bhutan is considered a restricted area, and tourists need a "Restricted-Area Permit" to enter the same.
